There is nothing supernatural, but the house is old, the housekeeper/maid is creepy, and the Westaway family is hiding secrets. Westaway in the fall because the atmosphere is spooky. I regret not waiting to read The Death of Mrs. ![]() ![]() Soon, Hal finds herself at the funeral of the deceased…where it dawns on her that there is something very, very wrong about this strange situation and the inheritance at the center of it. She realizes very quickly that the letter was sent to the wrong person-but also that the cold-reading skills she’s honed as a tarot card reader might help her claim the money. On a day that begins like any other, Hal receives a mysterious letter bequeathing her a substantial inheritance. Westaway was the author’s strongest book so far, followed by The Lying Game, which I also read in July. ![]() ![]() Hello, readers!
